Windows-based players can now find out just how hard it is to create their own video games.
Microsoft has released a beta version of the promised XNA Game Studio Express. The software lets gamers create their own titles using “new, optimized cross-platform gaming libraries for Windows and Xbox 360.”
The catch with beta, however, is that the trial program will only allow the creation of games for Windows. The final version, due out this holiday season, will target Windows, and with a subscription to the XNA Creators Club, the Xbox 360, too.
